What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
What I enjoy most is being in the room where the decisions are made. You can be a very low-level person in the company, but you get to sit in the room with the decision-makers: the chief engineers, the CEOs, the CFOs.
They are asking the questions and looking for you to give them the information and guidance on how to steer the ship. My manager explained it to me like, "Hey, the strategy guy, you're the guy in the crow's nest on the ship. You're the one looking out, trying to determine which way we should be headed."
That way, you can relay that information down to the captain so they can make the decision.
