What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?
Understanding that it's okay to not have all the answers and to seek help when you can, I want to mention something for people entering their first jobs after school. Certain jobs can be around the clock, so be very mindful of that.
In my particular role, I had an idea because I'd been in the industry. It's an around-the-clock job. If it's 11:30 on a Saturday night and you get a call because your team has run into an issue, or you've had a test failure, and you have to hold an emergency meeting, that has to happen.
You don't want to be the person who holds things up. So, being very mindful of that and understanding the many responsibilities that come with the job, I think that's something I wish I had known before entering the industry.
While it seems you can have great work-life balance, there are times when you really have to be a part of the team to make things move forward.
