College Experiences That Helped an Institutional Account Manager at Coinbase Succeed
Mike, an Institutional Account Manager at Coinbase, recommends internships ("give you some sense of what the business world is like") and jobs like Starbucks ("good for work ethic") to build a strong foundation. More insightful, however, is Mike's emphasis on staying current in one's field of interest through reading publications, podcasts, and newsletters to stand out from the competition, noting that "it's amazing how many people will apply for a role...without really like being up to date on like basic things."

What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
I did an internship and worked at Starbucks. These experiences are definitely helpful to get a sense of what the business world is like. An internship in an office can give you insight into that, and something like Starbucks is good for developing work ethic.
I think a good way to set yourself up well in undergrad is by reading and keeping up to date with the industry you're interested in. This means reading publications, as it's amazing how many people apply for roles or enter an industry without knowing basic things.
It's a great way to set yourself apart, and it's never been easier with podcasts, newsletters, and other resources. Just find the most popular publications, newsletters, or podcasts in your field and consume them.
