What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I am the marketing manager at Precision Construction Services, a small but very ambitious and fast-growing company. My role as marketing manager is quite broad, encompassing marketing, communications, PR, and some business development.
The priorities shift depending on what's in our pipeline and what's most needed. My day-to-day responsibilities include writing and developing all of our proposals and business collateral, such as qualification statements. I'm also responsible for anything we put out about the company that explains who we are and clearly communicates our messaging.
I manage the company website and all updates. We relaunched it a couple of years ago with a design partner, so it's great to have a more up-to-date site. I also handle all our awards and recognition submissions, which have proven very valuable.
While it might sound like a frill, awards are a great way to draw attention to the company within the community. They also serve as a quick signifier of competence, especially for a young, small company competing against larger, better-known organizations.
In business development, I represent Precision at industry events and help build relationships with representatives from companies we want to partner with or work for. I also collaborate with HR to develop recruitment-oriented materials. These materials highlight opportunities for junior staff to grow with us, explaining why Precision is a great company to start a career with.
