The collaboration, and I cannot stress this enough, is about getting different perspectives on problems. Different ideas and being open to other people's opinions can provide solutions that are better suited for stakeholders, your company, and even your client or contractor.
I think that's probably the most critical aspect of collaboration: getting people's input.
