What skills are most important for a job like yours?
As a project manager, you'll encounter intense or stressful situations. For instance, upper management might tell you to cut your budget or meet a specific deadline.
In those moments, maintaining good communication is key. Always be respectful and empathetic, and at the same time, keep your composure. I believe these are the main attributes needed to be successful as a project manager.
This is especially true when you have 30 to 40 stakeholders. You need to build good relationships with people. In my opinion, the most important elements for building relationships are respect, empathy, and communication.
Building relationships is probably paramount above all else. So, I'd say always be positive, look to the future, and try to think outside the box. I believe this is pretty paramount for a project manager.
