What does the day in the life of a project manager look like?

Meetings are a crucial part of projects like this. There are many different stakeholders involved, ranging from environmental and legal to engineering, operations, and land and right-of-way. We are constantly attending internal and external meetings.

As a project manager, the most important aspects are communication and delegation of tasks. This includes holding people accountable, taking meeting minutes, and ensuring action items are followed up on.

I also constantly try to build new relationships with people. This ensures that in the event we need support, or if a stakeholder needs to be part of a specific conversation or review, they are available.

Therefore, communication and follow-up are the most critical functions of a project manager. The goal is to execute the project and hit your milestones.
