What did you do in your undergrad to set you up for success in your career?

I differentiated myself. I think architecture is a very portfolio-heavy profession to get your foot in the door. I did everything I could to make myself stand out from the next person submitting for a job.

I learned every technology class I could and mastered every program to a sufficient level to secure an entry-level position. This gave me diverse experience in all the technical computer software, making me more applicable for jobs.

I developed a comprehensive portfolio through my work and made sure to articulate it at the highest level. When I sent out my portfolio, it provided differentiation amongst the pile of others they were receiving.

I was driven. When I first looked for a job, I made a cover letter template and sent out 30 applications a day. Even if there wasn't a listed application, I would find a company email address. I would then input the head of that company into the email address and send it off to see what happened.
