How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

Curiosity is always my number one answer when it comes to traits of people working in marketing. This is especially true at the intersection of healthcare, insurance, and technology. Being able to constantly try and get better is key.

The work ethic piece, which we mentioned, is also important. Understanding that there's never a perfect solution, only incremental improvements at each stage, is crucial. The way your brain works and having that trait is always going to be number one.

I think organization is another huge piece. I'm honestly not the most organized person, but I surround myself with colleagues who are more organized and push me in that direction. Being able to understand and prioritize what you're doing, how you're doing it, and in what order is important. Also, understanding the importance of your tasks to yourself and the company is key.

The last trait I would say is thoughtfulness. This means understanding what your customers are going through and being able to see their experience from their perspective. This allows you to use your curiosity and organization to create the best and most positive experience for them.

This applies to marketing campaigns, email programs, website experiences, and anything else. Especially in this industry, the people we interact with are often struggling to get prescriptions, which can be scary. Being thoughtful about their experience, easing their pain, and simplifying things is a huge piece of the equation.
