What is one lesson you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

The most important lesson I've learned is balancing work and home life. This includes balancing specific projects, things I enjoy doing in my job, and things I don't.

I've reached points in my career where my balance was off, and I had a bad experience. I needed to make changes to fix it. I didn't truly realize how important balance was until I was in those situations.

It's important to ensure the projects I work on have a mix of things I really enjoy, along with the tasks I need to complete to get through the day. Every job, role, and company will have its positives and negatives.

I think it's about figuring out what you need from your workload and your mindset to avoid burnout. You also need to ensure you're not too unfocused, and have something to keep you grounded.

It definitely took me a while to understand this. I don't think I really grasped it until I saw how bad my situation was at that point in my career and how much I was missing the bigger picture. That's probably the biggest thing I've learned.
