What skills are most important for a job like yours?

Curiosity is definitely number one. Even when I'm interviewing for roles in marketing operations, I try to figure out how curious someone is.

It's about that drive to discover the best options and outcomes. It’s the engine behind your brain that tells you when something isn't quite working and you need to go in a different direction.

Trial and error is super important in marketing operations, and in marketing as a whole. I like being able to test things, try them, and see what works and what doesn’t.

Specifically in the marketing operations world, I wouldn't be where I am if I hadn't broken a bunch of things earlier in my career. I'd try things I thought would work in a specific way and find out, either quickly or hurtfully, that it didn't.

For example, I sent an email to a million people with a broken image because I tried to use a shortcut link. So, I learned not to do that again. Being able to figure out the right way to do things and being curious about the best way is definitely a number one skill.
