What does a day in the life of a CEO look like?
It changes every day. There are days where I spend most of my time in external meetings, with funders, new school site partners, elected officials, or concerned donors.
Then there are other days where I spend a lot of my time in internal meetings. I help ensure our research and evaluation is strong, and that our team members have a good culture.
I also spend a lot of time on the road. Currently, we are in three states, and within three months, we will be in seven. I spend a couple of days per month traveling to visit donors in other states where our programs are.
I also talk with our executive staff. I help ensure the work being done in that region is providing our young people with the best of IYT.
