What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?

I think in college, I worked really hard. I always tried to do my best and held myself to a high standard. I knew what I was capable of.

My mom would say, "I don't care if you get a C or whatever, but if I know you're capable of an A and you get a C, don't be mad." I think it's important to know what you're capable of and not sell yourself short.

Try hard, study, and overachieve. You'll be happier with your results than regretting that you wish you'd done more. I think that's a bad feeling to have.

So, try hard and, obviously, have fun in college. But the most important thing is to actually care. Also, don't sweat it too much if you don't know what you want to do.

Show up to class, try, study, and put in the effort. You'll be fine. It will help you graduate and get good grades, and it will set you up for the future.

Setting that habit early on and teaching yourself that you need to do this, holding yourself accountable, is important. Someone told me that if you have a dentist appointment, you're going to go. You made it, it's scheduled, you have to go.

But you might not go to the gym. You might just decide not to go. If you can hold yourself to the same standard for studying or going to class as you would for a dentist appointment, it becomes a no-brainer. You just have to go. I think setting those habits early on is key.
