What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I am a senior consultant at a recruitment partner, and we specialize in renewable energy and clean tech recruiting. We work with many companies within renewable energy and clean tech.
My role specifically is what's called 360 recruitment. Within a recruiting agency, there are two sides: the recruiting side, where you find candidates to fill jobs, and the sales or account management side, where you find clients, essentially people who have the jobs.
Someone needs to find jobs to work on, and then recruiters find candidates to fill those jobs. A 360 person like myself does both. My job is to find clients that are hiring and bring in jobs.
Ideally, I'm supposed to be working on my own roles. Sometimes, we all have our own specializations within our company. So, if I bring in a job that's not really within my area of expertise, I'll pass it off to someone else who solely just does recruiting.
I specialize within commercial skill sets. I do a lot within finance and banking, and I work with many investment banks that invest in renewable energies. I also handle M&A.
Commercial skill sets are as opposed to our EPC team, which is engineering, procurement, and construction. They hire a lot of construction people, engineers, and people out in the field building solar and renewable energy facilities. As opposed to that, I work with people behind a desk, like a VP of Finance, if that makes sense.
