How would you describe people who typically thrive in your industry?
That's a great question. I think the people who really thrive in the Creator economy and in games are positive.
There are so many people in the industry who, I don't know if they're just burned out or for whatever reasons, it feels like doing this work is a chore for them. It doesn't feel collaborative.
When you work with someone and find the experience enjoyable, you like that person and want to do more with them. That has a rubber band effect: you like them, so you want to bring them opportunities, and they like you, so they want to work with you again. Partnerships grow from that.
I haven't really gotten into the weeds of sponsorship and branded deals with creators, but that's a huge part of our industry. It’s about bringing creators real opportunities and having them trust you with that.
For me, the people who thrive in our industry are honest, straightforward, and approachable. There is space for divas, especially when working with creative people, and those people thrive.
But if you look at the people doing the absolute best, like Mr. Beast, Jimmy Donaldson, he's humble as can be. I met and worked with him, and he's a straight shooter. Philip DeFranco, shout out to Phil, he's someone I could text at 10 p.m. with a question and he'll get back to me.
It feels like they're another friend, another contact in the space that you trust. That's what makes it super easy to constantly work with them. When I hear about opportunities, I think about how I can bring in these people who have helped me previously.
It's like when one of us wins, we're all sharing in that win. People who lift each other up in this space do a lot better than people who put each other down.
