Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?

That's a pretty interesting question. I graduated in Fall 2019, in December, right before COVID. So I didn't have any job prospects. Everyone who did have a job offer lost their job.

It was kind of a big scramble. The first job I got out of college was being a doorman at an apartment building. I was really struggling to find any type of work, but it really taught me to develop my own business and be very entrepreneurial in finding a job, which is a big skill. I'm sure kids today are struggling to find jobs, as everyone has been since COVID.

Through that, I was able to do a few odd jobs and some career development stuff, like career coaching and helping with business development for my advisor. Then I finally landed my first real job as a tech recruiter at Harem here in San Francisco. I learned how to talk to people, especially using Zoom and Google Meet. I also learned a lot about technology, specifically AI and machine learning.

As I continued to learn more about what was going on in the world, I became extremely curious about Web3 and blockchain. I talked to my company about it, saying we should start looking at this new market. They responded that it would be in 10 years. I felt there was a lot going on and I was super curious.

Funny enough, one of my fraternity brothers at UC Berkeley started a Web3 domain infrastructure company, which I was extremely curious about. He was a close friend, and we talked every day. I learned not only about the domain industry but also about Web3. After some time, he brought me in to work as a recruiter.

I helped bring on three or four people: backend engineers and front-end engineers. I also got to do business development, content creation, marketing, and some business strategy. I even got some PR journals to work with us. I really got to wear a lot of different hats.

This goes back to me in college. I didn't have the necessary internships or a good GPA, so I had to wear multiple hats after college. This allowed me to find different jobs and develop my skillset to then work as a Head of Growth at a startup that was doing pretty well. It was nice to be a part of it for sure.
