What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I currently work in subcontracts at Northrop Grumman, which is a role within our supply chain. My job is to help manage the suppliers we work with.
Northrop Grumman has many partners and other companies in the industry that we rely on for specific parts or services. I manage the contracts with these suppliers.
This role requires a lot of contract knowledge, understanding terms and conditions, and NDAs. It also involves a lot of reading and writing, as well as organization. You have to keep track of everything you're managing, the parts you're waiting on, the revenue and invoices you're tracking, and the relationships.
Managing the relationship with the supplier is one of the main aspects of my role, along with managing relationships with internal stakeholders or customers. Working in subcontracts is very challenging but also rewarding.
I recommend it for anyone considering law school or a legal career, but who is also passionate about supply chain.
