What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
My biggest challenge in my role, and probably in most supply chain roles, are the things I cannot control. There could be a natural disaster impacting one of our plants or a supplier.
There could be a system outage, preventing you from receiving or invoicing. So many things can happen that are beyond our individual control.
It's about how you deal with that in the moment, how you mitigate it, and how you try to work around it. I like to be in control, so that's really hard.
There's been a lot of focus on the supply chain industry in recent years due to so much volatility. Many people rely on supply chain professionals for guaranteed delivery.
It's really interesting to problem-solve for those things we can't control, to try to get our product delivered on time.
