What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
In undergrad, I was heavily involved with my major program, Justice and Peace Studies. I did a lot of advocacy work to get the program established as a major at my school; it had previously only been a minor.
I presented to the administration about why it should be a major and compiled a report. I worked on this with a team of other students, which taught me how to collaborate and delegate tasks.
I also participated in several extracurricular activities, particularly community service. During my senior year, I often took on leadership roles in these programs.
This involved coordinating schedules and logistics for things like running a tutoring program. Working with other students in this capacity, I often found myself in a mentor or training role. I taught them how to run a tutoring session and provided feedback, which also helped me prepare for working with colleagues in the professional world.
