What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I am a nonprofit consultant and freelance project manager. I'm self-employed, and I work with a number of nonprofit institutions.
My clients are mainly colleges and universities, healthcare nonprofits, and arts and cultural organizations. I help them expand, exemplify, and amplify their external engagement work.
External engagement work can be anything from engaging specific constituents – be they alumni, students, volunteers, or donors. It can also involve thinking about fundraising strategy, or how to get anyone excited about making a philanthropic gift.
Additionally, it includes marketing and communications, and how organizations can better operate. It's about thinking about the internal infrastructure that can propel a group to meet the needs of their external constituencies.
