What are some of the main responsibilities within your current role?

In my current role at Happy Returns, I'm the operational and growth and strategy manager. A lot of my responsibilities are within our operations, which handles returns for many consumer retail companies.

We receive returns from customers, sort them, and aggregate them into larger shipments sent back to our retailers. This process involves sorting through items like clothing, shoes, and other apparel.

My job is to make this experience faster and easier for employees. To do this effectively, I need to thoroughly understand our operations and how the process works.

I also assess our warehouse capacity. From a space perspective, I ensure we have enough physical warehouse space to accommodate our company's growth and the work required.

Additionally, I monitor our output. I track how many returns we anticipate processing monthly and ensure our operations align with these forecasts.

If we project processing more returns than our current capacity allows, I brainstorm projects to increase that capacity. This might involve collaborating with our software team for new product features or exploring external options.

I may also work with third-party vendors and contractors to integrate automation into our warehouse, such as conveyor technologies, camera and scanner systems, or robotic solutions to enhance speed and efficiency.
