What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
I primarily learned as much as I could, even in classes I wasn't sure would be relevant to my career. I always produced the best possible work that I could.
This wasn't for a grade, but because I wanted to gain valuable experience and be proud of the result of what I turned in. That set me up really well for this particular career, which is so based in deliverables.
I have really high standards for myself and my work that I don't compromise. I meet them regardless of client timeline or circumstances. I know exactly what I'm capable of because I pushed myself to those standards in college, even when it wasn't going to pay off in a higher letter grade.
I made sure I was producing the best possible work. This particular field is so based in generating reports or tangibles that you're giving to a client, so it applies particularly well. But I think that's generally good guidance for anyone.
Even if you don't see a point in putting in the extra effort for a college paper, it's going to pay off later if you keep doing that.
