What do you enjoy most about being in your current role as a marketing manager?
I enjoy having a team the most. Being able to have employees that I can mentor and then get feedback from, and speak candidly during meetings with just the three of us. That's what I find most compelling.
My current position is actually progressing that management leadership role. Being able to create a culture of your own small team has been really beneficial.
Honestly, one of the reasons I'm still with my company is that you create your own little space. In doing so, you can feel more involved in the future of the company and what you think the culture could be.
It's about being able to test that out with really good people. I'm trying to create incentives and a good work environment so they stick around. That's what I find most enjoyable and what makes me excited to clock in.
It's the fact that I don't just feel like a cog, but I'm also making the whole thing feel less like a machine. Hopefully, they feel that way too.
I want them to grow in their careers, I want to grow in mine, and we can learn from each other. It's a little less hierarchical. Those are definitely goals of mine and the things that make my day-to-day fun.
