Q7: Favorite parts - industry
What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I think it's all the cool technology. It gives a lot of hope for a greener future, but there's also a lot of really interesting stuff.
The neatest thing I've learned about biotech in particular is that there's no shortage of cool, crazy ideas that can, in theory, work. We're definitely not lagging in scientific ability.
It's more about being able to scale it to make a sufficient volume per year to where it's economically viable. And then also, there being markets for it. It also needs to be competitive with petrochemical-derived chemicals or molecules.
So there are a lot of challenges, but there's so much cool technology. There are brilliant people everywhere, which is really neat.
