What does a day in the life of an analyst look like?
"Analyst" can mean many different things; it's a general title. A day in my life usually starts with checking in with my manager in the morning to discuss what needs to be done.
Our team is small, with 10 people, and we're typically working on 10 to 15 projects simultaneously. I personally manage two to four projects. This requires a lot of resource management with people.
What I do on any given day really depends. For example, one project I'm currently working on involves a techno-economic model literature review for a client. Last week, I spent most of my time reading papers, extracting data, and analyzing cost data for various processes.
On other projects, I perform technical due diligence. I'll review startups for a client, examining their pitch decks, websites, and data from sources like PitchBook. I also look for patents related to their work to assess the viability of their business.
Honestly, a lot of my work involves tasks like these, along with numerous Zoom meetings to discuss progress. As I mentioned, a significant portion of my role also includes writing reports.
