What does a day in the life of your role look like on a daily basis?
I do quite a few different things. I usually start my day with administrative tasks.
I might look at the budget to see our standing and how much funding we have left for the fiscal year. I also review staff compliance forms and requirements to ensure everything is up to date and that there isn't anything missing for staff professional development.
I ensure they have all the necessary tools to support the youth we serve. I also check that students have submitted all their documentation to ensure they are fully registered in our program.
We track their progress and whether they are meeting the metrics we hope for. If not, we consider how the team can better support them.
On a day-to-day basis, that's what I do. Fortunately, I have some flexibility in my calendar to be present with my staff and students at our target site. This allows me to interact with them.
If I get a bit of leeway from administrative duties, I get to interact with the youth as well.
