What is your biggest challenge in your role?

Juggling all the different roles in a small business is rewarding, but it is also equally challenging. When you have that many different things to manage, your brain kind of has to shift gears a lot. Being prepared for that is the top takeaway.

The second is creating new business. When you're a small business and you get caught up in all the daily tasks and responsibilities, it can be hard to think about the future because you're so focused on the present. That, however, is one of the most important parts.

So just kind of making that shift to think about what new job opportunities are there, who new people can you be meeting, and planning. We're planning up to four years out at a time.
