What's your biggest challenge in your current role?
I think it's about finding balance, specifically work-life balance. I tend to give a lot to my job, and I've been at my current job for 12 years.
In many ways, giving so much has set me up for success and helped me reach my current position. However, I also realize that sometimes I give too much and, in the past, I've sacrificed personal things for my work.
I think this is common for people around my age, in their twenties and thirties. You put so much time and effort, that hustle, into your work. While it's important, you want to ensure that after the workday is done, you have wonderful things you enjoy outside of it.
For me, I've had to be very mindful of taking care of myself. This includes being active outside of work, dedicating time to my relationships, and developing hobbies. I don't want my entire identity to revolve around my job.
Of course, as a business owner, my work is a huge part of my life. But again, it's about balance and making sure that work-life balance is more 50/50 than 90/10. That's something I believe is really important.
