What are your main responsibilities within your role?
My job title is Communications and HR Manager, though that's a recent change, only happening this past July. Before that, my role was Management Analyst, and then Senior Management Analyst.
Essentially, I'm a jack of all trades. I'm responsible for all public education and outreach, which includes everything from sending out newsletters and managing the district's website to staffing booths at events.
I also managed a public outreach event we held here where 1,100 people attended a five-hour free event to see the wastewater treatment plant.
Beyond that, I handle policy review and agenda packet review. I help draft memos for both our staff and occasionally for the board. I also keep up with legislation that could affect us here at the wastewater treatment plant or special districts.
Now, I'm also taking on an HR role. I'm gradually developing responsibilities for onboarding, and I'll likely take on more tasks related to that in the near future.
