What was the most impactful experience during your time at WP Carey?
I've touched on career fairs a lot already, but I honestly do think they were probably the most impactful thing for my future success and my career. The environment and the number of companies that they bring in are impressive.
It's also a great learning experience for networking and how to talk to recruiters. Since I've already given that answer a few times, another impactful aspect is the core-level classes.
Classes like CIS 105 and SCM 300, which is a junior-level class, provide a broad overview of specific functions. For example, Marketing 300, SCM 300, and CIS 300 (or 105 for CIS) do an awesome job of assigning professors who inspire students in that major.
I remember in CIS 105 as a freshman, I left the first lecture wanting to switch my major to CIS. I actually did switch for a couple of weeks before returning to finance and eventually ending up in supply chain. This was probably for the same reason I wanted to switch to CIS.
These professors really show the core of the major and make it exciting, not just a boring major with no job prospects. It's awesome that they have people with industry experience who also promote majors with a high likelihood of job placement.
Supply chain, CIS, and really anything in WP Carey have awesome placement ratings. The school provides the resources you need to get a job.
All of these things wrap up into making WP Carey a pretty awesome business school. I'm glad to be an alumnus.
