What are your main responsibilities within your role?

In my current role, I primarily work with the accounting students at the University of San Diego, both undergraduate and graduate. Our role as professional development managers is to help students from the beginning of their career goals and journey.

This includes career exploration, helping students figure out what they want to do, which path to take, and how to get started. It extends all the way through salary negotiation and job offer acceptance.

Everything in between covers interview preparation, resume workshops, and networking. These are all key skills and steps along the career path that fall under my purview.

Something unique within the accounting field is its structured nature. A big part of my job is also to manage our external partners, many of the firms and organizations we work with. This is to nurture those relationships and ensure they continue to recruit our students for internships and full-time positions.
