What does a day in the life of a business development director look like?

My day-to-day in this role is a combination of things. Part of it involves looking for new project ideas and funding opportunities to build projects and teams around.

It also includes client maintenance and checking in on ongoing projects. I do very little of the technical work to execute projects.

A lot of my job is ensuring that the client's goals and objectives are being met within the execution of a project by my colleagues. Alternatively, I come up with a concept and reach out to clients to see if it's something they're interested in.

If it aligns with their interests, we can build a project around it and then pursue funding to execute it. So, it's a mix of looking into the industry for opportunities and taking care of existing clients and projects.
