What did a day in the life of your role look like?
There's a lot of variety in consulting, with different projects and clients. Sometimes there's travel, sometimes not, but typically it involves meetings with teams.
These meetings might be about deliverables or with the client. We also do a lot of outside meetings, which many consulting firms are now encouraging.
You also have the opportunity to work on non-client projects, like passion projects. So, a day might involve talking to the client, reviewing team progress, and ensuring advancement on these non-client tasks.
These can include recruiting, meeting with students interested in the firm, interviewing, working on DEI initiatives, or building thought leadership. There's also a lot of mentoring of junior practitioners, where you can have coaches you mentor.
