What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate or graduate student might consider?

One of the great things about recruiting is there are many different paths to get to a recruiting or campus recruiting role. The most common paths involve starting as a recruiting coordinator or an HR coordinator.

Specifically for working in a campus role, where you'll be traveling to campuses and running events, it's beneficial to have prior experience in a recruiting role. Look for roles that offer opportunities to work on internship programs or gain exposure to campus recruiting.

However, there are also less traditional roles you can start with. We see some people come from college admissions programs or general college departments who are looking for a corporate role. This has been a natural progression for some.

The most common path is as a recruiting coordinator, where you handle a lot of scheduling and candidate experience work, and then step into a more traditional recruiting role after that.
