What skills are most important for a job like yours?
There's a saying: people, process, technology. This definitely applies to working as a Salesforce lead or really any role in technology.
Specifically, being a Salesforce lead requires strong communication and listening skills to work effectively with end users. Often, someone will request a feature, but it's important to understand the actual problem.
This is called solutioning. Someone might say, "I need a new field." If you have a conversation, you'll realize they might not need a field at all. Perhaps they need a report or something else.
Understanding the problem, listening, and communicating are essential to inform the next step: completing thoughtful process design. It's important to understand the entire process so you can map it out and design the best solution.
Finally, having a strong understanding of the platform is crucial. Salesforce has three release cycles per year, which is common across technology. It's always changing, so continuous learning is important.
In my downtime, I try to read blogs and documentation, watch webinars, and work toward my next certification to continue growing within Salesforce.
