What is one lesson that you've learned that has proven significant in your career?

I tell my team this all the time: Keep your expectations low and celebrate nice surprises. When you have folks interviewing for a role, expect the bare minimum out of them.

Be surprised when they come to you and say, "Hey, I've researched the company and see that you have these certifications." That's fantastic. You did your homework. That's a win.

If you are out on the production floor and you are planning to produce to plan, but you end up being a little more efficient and the machines are well-oiled, and you pump out a thousand more units than you thought you were going to, that's a nice surprise. Keep your expectations low and celebrate the big wins and nice surprises.
