What have you learned about this role? Is there anything you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
When I thought about this question, I realized that in school and leading up to your career, you focus a lot on business and hard and soft skills. Especially in client services, I didn't understand how emotional the work would be.
It's not just about deliverables and doing good work. Working with people requires reading the room, managing personalities, and staying calm under pressure, even when things feel chaotic. The pace is fast.
Essentially, you're a relationship builder, and at times, a therapist. You also translate between teams. It's been interesting to see how much soft skills matter and how much emotional intelligence is required.
