What did you do in undergrad to help set you up for success?
I would say it was sort of the first time I had left home. I went to school about ten hours away, and it was such a change for me. I had been really involved in high school leading up to that.
When I got to college and wasn't quite as busy, I almost didn't know what to do with myself. So, I would say getting involved in things I was passionate about was really great.
I was part of student government in college. I think that really helped because it prepared me for working with different people and leaders. It reminded me to continue doing the things I'm passionate about.
So, whether it's helping people or working in teams, I learned not to isolate myself. That was probably the biggest lesson. Knowing my strengths and knowing that I don't do well by myself helped me in the future.
I work better when surrounded by people. That's been a good reminder, especially for someone like me who has moved around a lot. Knowing that I really thrive in a community setting has been really helpful.
