What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
Within my first few months at my job, I remember wishing someone had told me I would be overwhelmed by the transition to working full-time. It's valid, normal, and okay, and you will adapt and learn. It's not going to be so overwhelming.
This is very relevant to media, but I think it applies to a ton of industries: the importance of networking. Talking to people above you, or people who have been in the industry forever, is intimidating.
When I started my job, my dad really recommended I go to the events they held at the office. Even if you don't know what you're talking about, you'll at least pick up terms. You can then ask someone to explain them to you.
Saying yes when people invite you to things, even if it's outside your comfort zone, makes a big difference. Helping executives learn your name and working with more senior people is always good for your career.
