What does a day in the life of a senior manager of sustainability look like?

Every day is completely different. Sustainability is an interesting area to work in because it covers every single type of role. There's a saying that every job's a climate job.

So when you're in sustainability, you have to be an expert at every single type of job, which means that every day you're training to learn how to do somebody else's job. Ideally, you have the support of the company and the other teams will help fill in the gaps, but they're looking to you to provide insights and guidance.

Yesterday, I learned about our caravan program from our transportation team and how we're more efficient with our freight, our loads, and our routes. That is a whole new world for me. I've never worked in operations with logistics and shipping.

Thankfully, my team is much smarter than I am, so we learn from each other. It's cool to go into my day-to-day not confident that I know what I'm doing, but confident that my team trusts me to figure it out.
