How would you describe people who typically thrive in your industry?

I want to clarify the question I'm responding to because tech is a big industry, and within tech, engineers, product managers, and designers are all big portions. I'm only really speaking to the finance portion because that's what I'm doing at a tech company.

Typically, people who do well in my group at DoorDash have high ownership and a high degree of responsibility for their work. I hope that this applies to all roles in tech.

At DoorDash specifically, or any large company, high initiative and self-direction are very important. It's easy to become a cog in the huge machine that is big tech. Many employees can skate along or get by without necessarily standing out or thriving.

To set yourself apart, you want to be proactive and constantly take on more than you are given. Lastly, people who like to dig into data, look for trends, and problem-solve also do well. Again, this is applicable to all professions, but ownership, proactivity, and digging into numbers for problem-solving are the three things I would cherry-pick.
