Throughout my career, one thing I had to really learn in order to advance further was that just because you're new to a position, don't assume the way something has already been done is the correct way to do it.
Sometimes it really does take a fresh perspective to realize, "Why not this way?" to make things more efficient and reevaluate existing policy where there could be improvements.
