What skills are most important for a job like yours?

I think there are two categories of skills that are important for a role like mine, especially in a startup. If you're in charge of revenue generation, you have to understand the sales process.

You have to understand building a sales team and having a playbook for how to go to market. So that's one bucket.

The second one, and this is why you want to get a great education, like an MBA, if it's really important for you to succeed and progress in the business world, is you want to be analytical. You want to be able to make data-driven decisions for the company and for your own task force.

You need to look at things on a daily basis and then extrapolate into monthly and annualized data to understand what the trends are. So having a data mindset is structurally impacting the direction of the company, and also being able to move forward the machinery of a sales team on a day-to-day basis.
