What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

My current role is Chief Revenue Officer at a small company. I've worked at a few different startups, and at any startup, you're going to wear a lot of hats and do many different things.

Sometimes the title will carry forward through conventional responsibilities, but you may also contribute to other parts of the business. To give you a great example of it, my job is to generate revenue for the company.

That's everything from making cold calls directly to prospects to trying to get pitch meetings for our company. Sometimes I'm involved in higher-level meetings and closing complex business cycles.

And then there's everything on the administration side: looking at the company's finances, financial modeling, forecasting, and things like that. So it's a mix of actual on-the-ground frontline sales efforts that I'm doing personally with a very small group, and then the infrastructure of the company, helping it professionalize and become a growing organization over time.
