On the other hand, what is your biggest challenge in your current role?
Fundraising is a time-consuming and frustrating process. This has been restricting our development progress. With more funding, we'll be able to recruit more people and move things faster.
That's definitely been a frustration, but it comes with being a CEO. Unless you're the CEO of a huge biopharma, managing money is a huge part of the job. It is challenging, but it's critical that we manage it effectively.
We also need to establish procedures and processes. We're a startup, but that doesn't mean we can be loose with our work. We're building a platform that will be used to make a therapy.
Regulatory bodies and our clients will want to examine our work. We need to ensure rigor in our work practices and processes so we can collect data and our design history. It needs to be filed appropriately and structured correctly.
Building all of this from the ground up is a challenge. You don't realize the effort that went into developing processes when you join a company where they already exist. Developing all of that takes time and effort.
As I said, raising funds is the challenging aspect of it all.
