What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

This might be obvious to a lot of people, but it really is just being honest and following your instincts. If you need help, you have to ask. If you're unsure, you have to get another person's opinion.

You don't want to create problems for yourself later down the road and then have people asking why and you don't have answers. So that's kind of the big thing.

If you can ask yourself, "What would an auditor say?" and you can't answer those questions, it's time to raise your hand and ask for some help and get somebody else's opinion or some guidance. But yeah, just be honest and follow your gut.
