What an Independent DJ Wishes They Had Known Before Becoming a DJ
Jangsoon, a DJ at Independent Artist, wishes someone had emphasized the independent nature of the role, stating that "it's all on your own," requiring strong time management and self-reliance. This understanding, gained through experience, would have eased Jangsoon's transition into the career and increased their comfort level early on.

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
I think the fact that it's all on your own is significant. Nobody really guides you on a career path as a DJ.
This is because, for the most part, you're an independent contractor. You really just have to learn how to manage your time and take full advantage of your downtime.
If I had known that from the beginning, I probably would have gotten more comfortable in this career much sooner.
