What are your main responsibilities in your current role?
As a project manager, especially for satellites, we deal with different types of products. There are six main types.
I focused on electronic products, where most components either use or generate electricity for the satellite's needs. As a project manager, we had many different spacecraft to create. My job was to ensure all parts and projects stayed on track.
This mainly involved creating and maintaining the schedule. I worked with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure products were built correctly and on time.
I also collaborated with other divisions within the aerospace company. This included checking if projects were funded by finance, if people were paid on time, and if parts were procured. I worked with the design team to confirm we were building the right thing and that it was designed correctly.
With operations, I addressed any issues that arose. I also checked with management about hitting milestones and quarterly production targets. Ultimately, my role was to work with everyone to ensure the spacecraft were built on time.
