What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

I would break down my responsibilities into a few different areas. Starting out in the consulting field, particularly at more junior levels, a lot of the day-to-day responsibilities involve material preparation and presentation.

For our client teams, we generally lead a lot of different meetings, whether those are on a weekly, daily, or sometimes even monthly basis. A lot of the materials that go into preparing for those meetings, as well as presenting during them, will fall to junior team members. I've done quite a bit of that in my role.

Some other main responsibilities in my role are client relationship management. As I've moved up in my consulting career, I've started to take on more client relationships and the management of those relationships.

Another aspect of my role is program management. In a typical consulting project, we'll be based with a client for generally about four to five months. We run our projects very much like large-scale programs.

This involves managing stakeholders, project timelines, project budgets, and all the various aspects that go into managing a program. I have taken these on, and I own them in my responsibilities.

The last piece, as with a lot of consulting roles, is that these can be highly quantitative roles. Data analysis is another responsibility. Anytime we get data requests from clients, depending on the nature of the project, I will own some of the initial analysis and synthesizing that for presentation.
