What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
For me, it was different because what I went to school for is not what I'm doing today. I support this agency 24/7. My only opportunity is to learn while I'm at work.
However, taking the UCLA Anderson School of Management course enhanced my education in ways pre-employment learning may not have. I was able to join this program while I was at work, and through their unique studies, I could use my current role and company for real-life application of their training. This made the learning more meaningful and relevant.
Once completed, I was certified with the studies. I recommend this type of development to anyone who is already working and wants to further their education because it's really important. It was hands-on, so I learned a lot faster about their training.
Based on what was happening in my work, when we talked about finance, I brought my real-life finance situation to the class. When we talked about marketing, I brought the challenges of marketing that we have in our company. Anything that we were doing, being trained on or going through the process of development, I was able to apply what I was dealing with at work right then. So, I was able to retain the learning and apply it even further once I got back to work.
